Hi, friends! I’m cooling it on the baby posts, promise….maybe.
I totally get to name drop on this week’s inspiration post because I actually KNOW the artist! Courtney Hamill is the creator and artist of Honeycomb Studio. Specializing in small batch, hand-made porcelain ceramics, Courtney has quickly moved through the ranks in the ‘creative’ community since her shop officially opened in 2012. Just get a load of this resume: features in publications such as Southern Living, Lonny Magazine, Atlanta Magazine and blogs like Design*Sponge and Houzz. Additionally, Courtney and her shop was named by Huffington Post as one of the Top 15 Home Decor Trendsetters from the South in 2013. This girl is on fire. (cue Alicia Keys)
While her forms are amazing – simple, organic, unique – it is Courtney herself whom I find most inspiring. See, she had a successful corporate career and literally up and quit to pursue what is now Honeycomb Studio. Now, how incredibly brave and inspiring is that? I (gulp) hope to do something similar one day. Her intuition and hard work as certainly paid off. She’s a brilliant person with a brilliant business and I highly recommend checking out her shop (if you haven’t already!)
